One of those weeks..

Do you ever have one of those days where you just dont feel like you've been the best mom that you possibly could be? And then things keep happening that makes you feel like that all week?

Well at the beginning of the week I had one of those days.

The first part of the day went actually pretty well, considering that since Mike has been working tons, I have basically been a Single Parent with all the exhaustion and frustration that goes with it! Anyways later that day we packed up and headed to do our weekly grocery trip. FYI-I normally DO NOT take the kids with me when I go. (but like i said since Mike has been workin so much..etc) Those trips usually start off with Dax screaming because he absolutely REFUSES, with ALL the strength his little body can muster up, to sit buckled in the front seat of the cart. Then as we proceed to shop, he begins his game of throwing the contents of our cart out as fast as I can put them in, while on the other hand I have to police Tavin constantly as he tries to put random items in the cart!

So, After getting to the store and losing the battle of getting Dax to sit down and buckle up. I decided to make both of them sit down in the cart, which lasted about 5 minutes!! (which i was actually impressed with) and just as I was turning back around to put some meat into the cart, Dax was on his way down, out of the cart!!! I hurried and grabbed my SCREAMING child to make sure he was okay. Then hurried and moved on, because our trip was over at that point, and to get away from disapproving parents' glares that I could feel coming towards me! Besides a horrible shopping experience, no damage was done, and Dax was completely fine, just shooken up a little and i couldn't put him down the rest of the day!

So later that week, trying to make myself feel better about being a better mom, I took an old friend up on a playdate to jumpin jacks. in the hustle and bustle of trying to get out of the house, I accidentally left my bathroom door open, with a very hot flat iron sitting on my counter. Of course Dax beelines it for my bathroom whenever the door happens to be open, cuz there is so much fun stuff he can get into in there. Today he learned of a not so fun thing to play with in the bathroom- yep he grabbed the hot iron and burned off his fingerprints on four of his little fingers. Big blisters starting forming immediately! I felt SO horrible that I sat and cried with him! I remember burning my finger once on a really hot jolly rancher, and I still remember how bad it hurt!
MY poor little guy!!

I am so sorry Ashley! Those weeks are the worst. It actually made me feel a little better, Peyton fell out of the cart at target last week and I felt terrible and watched him all day and was scared something would be wrong with him. Boys are fun but a lot of work. We should get together again soon.

Oh Ashley, I am so sorry. That story made me want to cry with you. Not only because I feel so sad for your poor little guy but because I feel for you and the heartache of a bad week. I hate those weeks but if it makes you feel better we all have them, I have them sometimes more often that I would like to admit. Hang in there! Lets get together again soon!
