celebrating freedom

For fourth of July we went to the West Jordan parade with my sister and her family. She lives real close to it, which is nice because we can just walk over. The kids had lots of fun at the parade with their cousins. They got loads of candy and a little flag to wave at the floats as they went by. After the parade was over and the heat started to kick in, we took advantage of our neighborhood pool to cool off, where Tavin turns into a fish. He absolutely Loves swimming, and always battles us when its time to get out, whereas Dax would rather walk around the pool, occasionally dippin his toes in the cool water.
Later that evening we had a neighborhood BBQ in our circle, follwed by a firework show!

The evening of the 24th of July we had a family BBQ at my parents, where grandpa "honey" bought a super sized box of fireworks to entertain the kids! Too bad their attention spans only lasted about 3 minutes after the firework show started! Well at least the big boys had fun putting the show on for the rest of us, they even got a latter to stagger the fireworks for more effects! So creative!!

oh the anticipation...
and about 2 minutes after this pic was taken all the kids were outta their seats and running around chasing each other around, absolutely oblivious to the fireworks exploding around them!

We were able to get the little ones attention for a minute, when we told them they could do Sparklers!!
