Christmas party part 1 2010

For Our family Christmas party this year, My wonderful sister did it at her house.. We had yummy food, followed by an evening of fun events. First after dinner we let the kids decorate little gingerbread houses that Angie had made for them. Of course most of the candy ended up in the artists' bellys' ensuring a sugar high filled evening. (not that the Swanson kids ever have a problem finding energy, especially when they get together)
Dax's house was almost candy free by the time we went home.
Yummy reindeer food made of oatmeal , glitter and colored sugar
After the houses were decorated, it was time to make the traditional reindeer food that the kids spread out on the lawn on Christmas eve, so the reindeers know where to land.

Getting the reindeer food all ready!

After the reindeer have been taken care of, it was time re enact the nativity. Angie came up with a good idea of using the figurines from her nativity set. We let each kid draw a paper from a hat, and that would be the figurine they got to hold each time their "character" was mentioned while Uncle Paul read the story aloud.
And Finally the kids got to open their gifts from each other. It was a very fun evening!!

Yay! Presents!!!!
