DaXtOn!

My baby is already 6 months old!! okay- actually he is 7 months old as of today. I've just been meaning to post this for about a month now! Dax Went in for his 6 month check-up and is still doing awesome. Here's all about him:

Height: 27.2 inches

Weight: 18 lbs 2 ounces

New Skills: He has completely mastered sitting all by himself. He has now started to do the army crawl, and can get to whatever it is he wants. He is VERY mobile!! He has started to babble a lot! he will take turns talking to ya. He loves laughing and has started a "fake" laugh- or courtesy laugh, as we call it.

Eating habits: He still is mainly breastfed. He does pretty good with rice cereal, but for some strange reason every time we have tried the first foods- peas and green beans-with him, he pukes.. A LOT! so i don't know what that is all about, but i'm not pushing the issue.

Ever since Dax has been old enough to hold his head up, we have noticed his range of motion in his neck is very un equal. He can turn his head to the left extremely well, but not so much to the right! He also has his head cocked downward and to the side when he is sitting upright. Whenever we would lay him on his belly, he would always lay his head down towards the left- and refused to lay it the other way, because it hurt him. When we took him in for his 4 month check- the DR. told us he has Torticollis. Which is basically that his neck muscles on the one side are extremely tight and short, while on the other side they are stretched out and weak. We were told to do some excercises to help stretch the muscles. When we took him in for his 6 month check-up it seems to have gotten a little better, because now that he is sitting up and stuff, he is kind of stretching the muscles out on his own. The Dr wants us to take him in for physical Therapy, so we had our first session last week. We were told his condition is pretty mild, and shouldn't have any permanent effects. We have to take him for every week for the next few months. He is such a good little kid, he just sat and smiled at the therapist, while she was twisting his neck uncomfortabley all around. But thats just how he is!!!!! He is such a sweetie!!!!

That is so crazy about the puking thing! Emma has an intolerance for Rice that if we feed her anything with rice or rice flour in it she pukes it all up and then some, it sucks! She has been fine with oatmeal though and has tried a few other fruit and veggie firsts that have also been okay.
